We believe that being an active part of a supportive community is hugely important to living well in later life. We encourage residents to be involved in daily life at the home and in the wider local community; helping with mealtimes, suggesting shared activities or planning outings, are all ways in which residents contribute.

Each Kindred Care home has a monthly calendar of events, activities and celebrations; gardening club, arts and crafts, singing, dancing, quizzes and trips out to the theatre, for walks and to areas of local interest. Family, friends and pets are invited to join in whenever possible. Each home is set in beautiful gardens and we help residents to get out to enjoy the changing seasons and fresh air.

We work with wellness experts Oomph (Our Organization Makes People Happy) to train staff as ‘activity champions’ who deliver stimulating, fun, physical activities and new experiences for residents. We have regular visits from our much-loved hairdresser and chiropodist and our staff have specialist care training in physiotherapy and exercises for the elderly.
